These terms apply when you use SheffPoints at sheffpoints.com to earn points at independent businesses in Sheffield and spend them on rewards. By creating an account you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

SheffPoints is run by TapMate Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16353666. Registered office: 18 Gaunt Drive, Bramley, Rotherham, S66 3YJ.

Your account

• Give us accurate details and keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
• One account per person.
• We can suspend or close an account that's used to misuse SheffPoints — for example, more than one account per person, collecting points without making a qualifying purchase, or using copied tag links.

Points

• You earn points when a SheffPoints business records your purchase, or when you tap their SheffPoints tag after spending at least their minimum. Each business decides whether, and how, it gives points.
• New accounts get a one-off welcome bonus once the email address has been confirmed.
• Points have no cash value. They can't be exchanged for money, sold or moved to another account.
• If points are added to your account by mistake, or through misuse, we can remove them.

Rewards

• Rewards are provided by the business offering them, and what's available can change. The business is responsible for the products and services it provides — including allergy and dietary information.
• Claim a reward at the counter by tapping Redeem now and showing the confirmation to staff. Once a reward has been given, the points spent on it can't be returned.
• If you've spent points on a reward and the business couldn't give it to you, contact us and we'll put it right.

Changes to SheffPoints

We may change how points are earned, how many points rewards cost, which businesses and rewards are available, or these terms. We'll tell you about significant changes before they take effect. If we ever close SheffPoints, we'll give you reasonable notice so you can use your points.

Closing your account

You can close your account at any time from your profile (Close my account), or ask us to through our contact page. Any points left on it are lost when it's closed.

Businesses

If you run a business on SheffPoints, these terms also cover your use of the business dashboard. Points packages and payments for rewards are as agreed with our team.

Our responsibility to you

We work hard to keep SheffPoints running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for the products and services businesses provide. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law doesn't allow it to be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud — and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute.
